    Within the context of a client and family centred care model and in accordance with the established vision and values of the organization and under the supervision of the Senior Data Coordinator, performs duties such as collecting, reviewing and entering data on Leukemia and BMT patients into a computer database, completing computerized case report forms, performing statistical analysis on clinical information for reports and research studies, and generating a variety of reports as directed. Communicates with internal and external personnel regarding data retrieval and release of information, assists in maintenance of policy and procedure manuals and participates in interdisciplinary team meetings. Coordinates aspects of clinical trials including randomizing patients to treatment arms, obtaining data and preparing case report forms.


    Education & Experience

    • Grade 12
    • Graduation from an approved program for Health Record Administration
    • Successful completion of the Canadian College of Health Record Administrators exam at the Certificant Level
    • One (1) year’s recent, related experience in a health care environment including the combined application of medical records duties, and experience with computerized applications and data retrieval and analysis or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

      Knowledge & Abilities
      Demonstrated ability to operate related computer equipment and other related equipment and software such as SPSS, S Plus, PowerPoint, Excel, Word.
      Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
      Demonstrated ability to deal with others effectively.
      Comprehensive knowledge of administrative and clinical utilization of patient care information systems and relationships to patient information records.
      Demonstrated ability to consolidate and analyze statistical information.
      Demonstrated ability to type 50 words per minute.
      Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
      Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work.

      The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
