|Hours:||0730-1530 / 0800-1600 / 0830-1630 / 0900-1700 or as operationally required|
Performs nursing functions associated with interventional radiology, computed tomography and other medical imaging procedures to patients of all ages who may be critically ill and/or attached to life-support equipment, both by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Assists the physician during the procedure and performs direct nursing care as appropriate to ensure the comfort and safety of patients undergoing procedures. Enhances quality of life from the perspective of the patient/family. Prepares for and responds to fluctuating workloads, unexpected critical situations and the requirement to be on-call as required. Consults, confers and collaborates with other health care providers as well as with other members of the Medical Imaging team. Demonstrates continuous improvement and best practice approach in nursing practice. Maintains and advances own clinical competence. Participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research as assigned.
Practices within the context of a client and family centred care model and in accordance with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP) standards of practice for registered nurses and code of ethics and the vision and values of the organization and Lower Mainland Medical Imaging (LMMI)

Eligibility for the post-basic training education is restricted to applicants with a minimum of:
Applicants must successfully complete the post-basic training education prior to working in the Department.
The post-basic training education program requires full time attendance. Funding will consist of 100% of wages, tuition and books during the training program.
Online Theory prerequisites (if required) - Jan.7 - June 23 2019 with 6 non-consecutive education days - Jan. 29, Mar. 19, Apr. 4, Apr. 30, May 16 and May 29, 2019.*
Full-time training at BCIT and practicum locations: July 2, 2019 to Sept. 24, 2019.*
*Course dates will be modified based on previous courses completed. VCH only funds for required courses.
The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
