    JOB SUMMARY:

    Reporting to the Director, Physician Quality  and operating within the context of a client service culture to provide organizational leadership with respect to information management and analysis, quality measurement and evaluation and utilization strategies, the Decision Support Advisor identifies, develops, implements and maintains an innovative response to the quality, utilization and other information needs of Vancouver Coastal Health.

     

    Responsibilities include consultation services, detailed analysis of information including confidential data files; user needs assessment and requirements surveys; integrated report design; development of appropriate database structures and development of dashboards, key performance indicators and balanced scorecards. You will be an integral member of the interdisciplinary team that provides decision support to promote physician performance improvement to improve patient outcome and quality.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERTISE:

     

    Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems or equivalent plus three years experience in Information, Utilization Management and Quality Management.

    Expertise:

    • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Expertise in the area of Decision Support including concepts, tools, methods and workload measurement.
    • Knowledge of database design and report design at the intermediate to advanced level.
    • Knowledge and skills in the development of dashboards, KPIs and BSC an asset.
    • Knowledge of healthcare databases an asset.
    • Advanced proficiency with desktop analytical tools including MS Office, SQL, SAS or other equivalent tools.
