A joint initiative of Vancouver Coastal Health, the Provincial Health Services Authority and Providence Health Care, CST is one of the largest and most complex health-care projects in Canada and the most significant in BC. VCH Coastal’s Lions Gate and Squamish General Hospitals successfully went live with this exciting initiative in April 2018. Over the next few years ~40 other facilities will transform their health care systems and processes to improve the safety, quality and consistency of patient care in the province.

You see the big picture and roll up your sleeves to ensure that deliverables are completed within assigned timelines and resources, and reflect the requirements articulated by clinicians and providers. You are an effective team leader, collaborate well with other managers, service providers and stakeholders, and can navigate through complexity without breaking a sweat. You also enjoy fast-paced work with opportunities to take on new responsibilities and develop new skills.

Reporting to the CST Clinical Design Team Director, the team manager inspires a high-functioning, multi-disciplinary team of clinical and technical professionals while fostering a respectful, supportive environment. This person is responsible for ensuring best practices and flexibility for future innovations in care are reflected in the design, testing, integration, and implementation of assigned functionality within the clinical information system with the goal of improving clinical workflows.

The Clinical & Systems Transformation (CST) Project is one of the largest health care projects in British Columbia's history. It is a joint undertaking between Vancouver Coastal Health, the Provincial Health Services Authority and Providence Health Care to complete a significant transformation of clinical practices and systems. This is an exciting initiative that will deliver key benefits for our patients, health care providers and health organizations.

Reporting to the Clinical & Systems Transformation Team Director, the Team Manager is responsible to ensure best practices and flexibility for future innovations in care are reflected in the design, testing, integration, implementation and integrated work across teams through the Clinical Systems Transformation project and that project deliverables are met within the assigned timelines. In collaboration with other CST Team Coordinators and Managers and the Service Provider, ensures Clinical Process is the foundation for all phases of the Clinical & Systems Transformation project (CST) across Providence Health Care (PHC), Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) and Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) with the goal of improving clinical workflows.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management/Technology, Business Administration or other related field.
  • Eligible for membership with applicable professional Association as applicable.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years’ recent, related leadership and project management experience preferably in a registration setting.
  • Demonstrated supervision, leadership and facilitation skills. 
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team and fostering a respectful, motivating and supportive environment. 
  • Demonstrated ability to represent your business stream across the organization and to senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of business practice and work flows in health care settings preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Lean or related process improvement principles.
  • Proven ability to engage and coordinate activities within a work setting.
  • Proven ability to generate required outcomes from initiatives with specific purpose.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflict effectively.
