Vancouver Coastal Health Mental Health and Substance Use Services

 

Mental health and substance use services provide a range of health care and support services to adults and older adults struggling with acute, chronic or recurring challenges. These services may be provided in hospitals, the community or in your own home.

 

Job Summary:

 

Reporting to the Director, Mental Health and Substance Use, you will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing and evaluating online client service and education programs and systems, using a variety of innovative technology and modalities, with the goal of connecting clinicians/therapists and their clients to superior quality treatment quickly and efficiently.

 

You will work in a team environment and with key stakeholders (practice leads, clinicians, educators, and managers across the health authority, as well as systems contractors/vendors) to advise on and develop a high quality systems that support assessment and therapeutic interventions for clinicians/therapists and their clients, as well as support a variety of education, training and learning modalities for clinicians/therapists in utilizing an online approach to providing client therapy.

You'll support strategic planning initiatives for the department through problem solving, change management, education and training, group facilitation and project management from an innovative technological approach and collaborate with other team members and vendors/contractors to recommend enhancements to the system and language, to support online therapeutic objectives while still achieving required best practice therapy protocols.

Qualifications and Expertise:

 

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in a related field plus five (5) years of recent, related experience in technology-based organizational and people development or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Affiliation with an appropriate professional association is desirable. 


Expertise:

  • Comprehensive knowledge and skill in online communication, technology and related best practices as well as an understanding of health care disciplines to support and enhance online health service delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to use superior group facilitation, negotiation and conflict resolution skills to promote critical thinking and problem resolution to achieve departmental goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage subject matter experts with the benefits of utilizing a variety of online technological modalities to provide health care programming and services.
  • Superior written communication abilities in an online environment.
  • Superior process design and project management abilities applied in the design and development of innovative online and technological service delivery initiatives.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
