    Job Title: Junior Decision Support Advisor

    Job Summary:

    Reporting to the Director of Decision Support, Data Management and Reporting, the Junior Decision Support Advisor participates in the detailed analysis of information including confidential data files and prepares confidential analytical reports to management Responsibilities include participating in data collective activities and in the development of appropriate database structures; use of on-line application processing tools to facilitate desk-top user interfaces; conducting data analysis and queries; and liaising with staff and leaders to work on special projects and assignments including productivity, utilization review of both staff and clinical indicators. Based on productivity and benchmarking analysis, the advisor develops recommendations that have direct financial and resource utilization impact to the organization.

    Qualifications and Expertise:


    • Bachelor’s degree in health related field or graduation from an accredited two (2) year Health Record Administration Program supplemented with current registration with the Canadian Health Record Association at the certificate level.


    • Demonstrated communications, leadership, facilitation and coaching skills.
    • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
    • Expertise in the area of Decision Support including concepts, tools, methods and workload measurement.
    • Demonstrated advanced analytical and problem solving skills
    • Comprehensive knowledge of and demonstrated ability to use advanced computerized databases. Knowledge of database design and report design at an intermediate level. Basic knowledge of OLAP (On-Line Application Processing) tools and SQL. 
    • Advanced proficiency with desk-top analytical tools including Excel, Access, Work and SPSS.
    • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work
    • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with others
    • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
