Salary: $21.26 per hour
Hours: 0800-1600/0900-1700

JOB SUMMARY:

Within the context of a client and family centered care model, and in accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, the Clinic Assistant works in a team based environment and performs clerical/receptionist functions in the support of the delivery of client care. Utilizes various electronic and computerized systems and tools including Electronic Medical Record (EMR), MSWord, MSExcel, MSOutlook and OASIS SharePoint collaboration tools web technology. Performs a variety of a variety of clerical duties such as arranging and scheduling client appointments, receives visitors and answers the telephone. Effectively maintains EMR system by assembling electronic client charts in a paperless clinic setting utilizing various validated tools, templates, tasking and interventions. Arranges for client admissions to the program, responds to physician orders, receives and transmits test results/medical information, enters information into the electronic medical record database, ensures data quality and accuracy. Troubleshoots and triages technical problems, identifying when to refer issues/difficulties for technical support. Compiles statistics, types and distributes a variety of technical and non-technical reports and other materials. Maintains an inventory of stationery supplies and ensures filing systems are maintained.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience

  • Grade 12.
  • Two (2) years’ recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.


Knowledge & Abilities

  • Ability to keyboard at 45 words per minute.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.


The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
