Reporting to the Manager, Recruitment Services, the Recruitment Associate supports the hiring of internal and external staff, from the initial posting of positions and receiving, reviewing and prescreening of applications, to the hiring of successful applicants and completion of the applicant process. The Associate provides guidance and advice to Managers and Directors regarding recruitment services, posting and recruitment requirements, collective agreement language, labour relations interpretation, and organizational hiring practices. Processes various documents electronically for successful applicant hires and transfers, and determines salary placement in accordance with collective agreements and hiring practices. May assist with the writing and placement of advertisements of vacancies.
Liaises with other staff and leaders in Recruitment, Labour Relations, Compensation and Classification, and other Employee Engagement departments regarding issues of a non-routine nature, and responds to inquiries from managers, employees and the public regarding the status of posted positions, employment opportunities, application procedures, salary and timekeeping issues and reference requests. Additionally communicates with other organizations and agencies when conducting reference checks, verifying professional credentials and conducting criminal record checks.
