Squamish Hospital: 0700-1500 or 0730-1530 Monday- Friday/ on-call 1530-0730 and on-call on weekends and statutory holidays 0700- 0700.

Should there be insufficient qualified candidates available for the above position, VCH may fund post-basic training education.
Eligibility for the Perioperative Specialty Training Program is restricted to applicants with recent acute medical/surgical experience. Preference will be given to applicants with a minimum of 1 year recent acute medical/surgical experience. Applicants must successfully complete the post-basic training education prior to working in the Department.
The post-basic training education program requires full time attendance. Funding will consist of 100% of wages, tuition and books during the training program.
Full time training: January 29, 2018 to June 22, 2018. In addition there is a mandatory program orientation day on January 15, 2018.
The full time training program is at Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) for the first 6 weeks with some days at Lions Gate Hospital (LGH). Following that there is a clinical preceptorship at LGH with some lab days at VGH.
Practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the College of Registered Nurses’ of British Columbia (CRNBC). Practices within a patient and family centred care model and the vision and values of the organization. Provides nursing services in an operating room environment as a member of an integrated surgical team performing varied and complex surgical interventions. Enhances quality of life from the perspective of the patient/family. Consults, confers, and collaborates with other members of the surgical team. Demonstrates continuous improvement and best practice approach in nursing practice and patient care. Maintains and advances own clinical competence. Participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned.
