Job Title: Program Worker
Work Site: Margaret Fulton Centre & West Vancouver Adult Day Centre (Adult DC)
Status: Casual
Start Date: As soon as possible
Salary: $19.98 - $21.85 per hour
Hours: 0815-1615 or 0830-1630 (Monday to Friday)

The Program:

The Adult Day Program provides a range of health, personal, social and therapeutic recreation services and activities in a safe and caring environment.  It is a supportive community program for seniors and people with varying abilities to help them remain at home and provides respite for caregivers.


Services we offer include:                

·         Individualized and Group Therapeutic
         Recreation and Social Programs

·         Caregiver and Family Respite

·         Caregiver Support/Education

·         Nurse Supervision

·         Assistance with Personal Care

·         Health Status Monitoring

·         Medication Support and Monitoring

·         Bathing Program

·         Nutritious Lunch and Snacks


How you’ll contribute:                                       

As part of this team and program, you will contribute in the following ways:                   

  • Develop, implement and evaluate programs based on clients’ abilities, needs and leisure interests.
  • Organize equipment and supplies for programs.
  • Collaborate with the health care team and provide input into the programs daily and long term.
  • Report and chart on client progress and participation.
  • Provide assistance to clients with walking, transferring and personal care.
  • Carries out responsibilities in accordance with health and safety regulations.

What you need:

  • A high school diploma (Grade 12 completion)
  • Completion of a recognized Therapeutic Recreation or Activity Course that includes assessment and program planning. 
  • Two (2) years’ of recent and related experience working with seniors and seniors with dementia.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification. 
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License and a current clean Driver’s Abstract.

Preference will be given to applicants who have successfully completed a recognized therapeutic recreation program.


The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
