Reporting to the Vice-President, Richmond Community, the Regional Director, Spiritual Health provides strategic and operational leadership for Spiritual Health services across Vancouver Coastal Health's Acute and Community settings. The role advances an integrated, equitable and person-centred approach to spiritual health that supports patients, families, staff and physicians through VCH's bio-psycho-social-spiritual model of care.
This is a unique executive leadership opportunity to influence holistic, compassionate and culturally responsive care across one of Canada's largest integrated health systems. Working in alignment with VCH's Mission, Vision, Values and strategic priorities, the Regional Director strengthens the integration of Spiritual Health within clinical care, professional practice, education, research and organizational culture.
The Regional Director leads a regional, multi-site team of Spiritual Health Practitioners, educators, residents, interns and adjunct spiritual care providers, translating strategic priorities into sustainable services, professional practice standards and operational approaches that strengthen consistency, workforce sustainability and patient, family and staff experience across the organization.
Working collaboratively with executive leadership, Operations, Professional Practice, Indigenous Health, physicians, academic institutions and community partners, the Regional Director advances integrated models of care, provides strategic consultation on complex spiritual, ethical and multi-faith matters, and serves as a trusted advisor to the President & CEO on the human, spiritual and cultural dimensions of healthcare delivery, organizational culture and staff well-being.
Building on a respected foundation, the Regional Director will steward and thoughtfully evolve the Spiritual Health portfolio by strengthening organizational alignment, professional practice, consistency across Communities of Care, evidence-informed service planning and culturally responsive care. As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks.
