Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is looking for a Coordinator, Agency Coordination (Rural & Remote) to join the Staffing Agency Housing team at qathet General Hospital. Apply today to join our team!


As a Coordinator, Agency Coordination- Rural Remote with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

  • Be responsible for assessing vacancy and staffing requirements across the organization and coordinating with Go Health BC and agency partners to meet these needs.
  • Ensure the effective prioritization and utilization of staffing resources across Vancouver Coastal Health.
  • Gather, analyze, and present data on staffing pressures, particularly in rural and remote communities, and provides insights and recommendations to support staffing decision-making. 
  • Contribute to the planning and optimization of Go Health BC and agency partners deployments, including the implementation of policies, standard work processes, and service delivery initiatives.
  • Support the coordination and implementation of departmental initiatives related to external personnel deployment. This includes developing implementation plans, establishing priorities and timelines, and monitoring progress to ensure targets are achieved.
  • Provide input into policy development and identifies opportunities for process and service delivery improvements related to agency and Go Health BC staffing.
  • Investigate and resolve complex staffing and deployment issues, and liaises with external partners including agencies, other health authorities, regulatory bodies, and government organizations to exchange information, resolve discrepancies, and address workforce concerns.as required to share information, clarify discrepancies, resolve problems and deal with employee concerns.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Human Resources or a relevant discipline.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of recent related health care experience in a large, complex unionized environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to manage challenging and competing demands within a limited timeframe.

  • Ability to apply project management methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, plan, and implement work for self and others.
  • Uses strong analytical, research and financial abilities to support decision making
  • Ability to take initiative in problem solving and implementing changes and new systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of human resources principles and practices and relevant collective agreements.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with key internal and external partners to promote and enhance services provided with sensitivity to diversity and indigenous lens.
  • Strong computer skills and database applications.
  • Practices the recognition, inclusion and support of all types and aspects of diversity at all stages of engagement, with an understanding of the issues faced by people from equity-deserving groups.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
