0830-1630

Days off: Saturday, Sunday and statutory holidays; Shifts may include 24 hours support, some weekends, and/or on-call rotations.

As a Clinical Team Associate with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

  • Report to the Clinical & Systems Transformation Team Manager.
  • Ensure Clinical Process is the foundation for all design of the Clinical & Systems Transformation project (CST) across Providence Health Care (PHC), Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA and Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) in collaboration with the Service Provider with the goal of improving clinical workflows and care for patients.

The Clinical & Systems Transformation (CST) Project is one of the largest health care projects in British Columbia's history. It is a joint undertaking between Vancouver Coastal Health, the Provincial Health Services Authority and Providence Health Care to complete a significant transformation of clinical practices and systems. This is an exciting initiative that will deliver key benefits for our patients, health care providers and health organizations.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience

  • Certified by the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science and basic core laboratory training.
  • Two (2) to four (4) years’ recent, related experience as a Medical Laboratory Technologist or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • CST experience required.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Broad knowledge of the applicable standards of practice and guidelines for clinical practitioners.
  • Demonstrated ability to represent your clinical specialty and across the continuum of care.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of clinical practice and workflows in own clinical area and others.
  • Basic knowledge of knowledge of laboratory procedures and techniques including quality control.
  • Basic knowledge of research process and methodology.
  • Demonstrated ability to function as a team member.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a constantly changing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish workload priorities in collaboration with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Skill in the operation of related equipment and in techniques appropriate to the designated area of the laboratory.
  • Demonstrated Project Management skills.
  • Proven ability to engage and coordinate activities within a work setting.
  • Proven ability to generate required outcomes from initiatives with specific purpose.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Lean or related process improvement principles.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.

As per the current Public Health Orders (Long Term Care/Seniors Assisted Living Provincial Health Officer Order and the Health Sector Order), as of October 26, 2021, all employees working for Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Proof of vaccination status will be required.
