Come work as a Cardiac Surgery Hospitalist with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!

Work as a hospitalist looking after post-op cardiac surgery patients on the acute cardiac ward at VGH.  We are currently looking for a hospitalist to join our multidisciplinary team.  Start date is as soon as possible to cover weekdays and weekends (no nights or call).

Patients are recovering from coronary artery bypass graft, valve and aortic surgeries.  You will manage patients with multiple co-morbidities along with common post-op complications including:  atrial fibrillation, acute kidney injury, delirium, pneumonia, stroke, and heart failure.  You will be an integral part of patients’ recovery and path to being discharged.

The candidate would ideally have hospitalist experience and be comfortable in an acute care setting.  Extra training will be provided to the chosen candidate.

Qualifications

Education, Licensing, & Experience:

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Desired
  • Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) – Full or Provisional
  • Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) – Mandatory
  • Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) - Mandatory
  • Hospitalist Experience – Desired
