Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for an Workforce Rotation Specialist to join the Workforce Operations team. Apply today to join our team!  

 

As Workforce Rotation Specialist with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

  • Act as one of the key contacts for management/leadership on workforce transformation and more complex rotation issues.
  • Conduct thorough reviews to evaluate current workflow delivery systems, assess alternate workflow/schedule patterns, and conduct analysis on staff workflow patterns, and staff mix to develop and design rotations to meet optimal staffing levels.
  • Deal with complex scheduling requests, and facilitates resolution to scheduling/rotation problems.
  • Respond  to  customer  needs  in  the  development of  complex  master  rotations,  promotes  effective workforce staffing models and proactively engages managers and leaders where improvements in rotations could improve staff deployment and relief. Liaises with VCH Human Resources and HEABC representatives, as well as union representatives when appropriate, to ensure master rotations are in compliance and accepted by all parties.
  • Act  as  a  resource  and  provides  support  to  clinical  planning  initiatives  that  optimize  the  use  of organizational resources to continually improve the provision of client care.

 

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Recognized degree or diploma in a related field plus three (3) years’ recent, related experience in an acute care environment including experience with automated staffing/scheduling systems or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Possesses a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare setting and healthcare professionals within the designated portfolio area.
  • Demonstrated mastery in the principles of workflow optimization in large acute care organizations.
  • Communicates in a manner that is clear and understandable both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrates a strong customer-service orientation and ability to understand and translate customer service needs into action.
  • Skillfully analyzes and explains complex and detailed information including collective agreement provisions, professional standards and various organizational policies and procedures.
  • Applies excellent time management and multi-tasking skills to prioritize and complete assignments and schedule activities in a manner that optimizes effectiveness and contributes to team success.
  • Fosters collaborative and effective working relationships with stakeholders that promote cooperative goals and contribute to an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect.
  • Demonstrates intermediate to advanced computer literacy with current word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software.
