Job Summary

Come work as a Manager, Health Analytics, System Improvement for the Coastal Community of Care with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!

 

The Manager, Health Analytics provides leadership and oversight for health analytics services that support clinical, operational, and system‑level decision‑making acrossthe Coastal community of care. The role manages two direct reports, partners closely with clinical and operational leaders, and ensures high‑quality, timely insights that inform performance improvement, patient flow, and resource optimization across VCH.

 

As a Manager, Health Analytics, System Improvement with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

  • Lead and manage health analytics services and projects supporting clinical operations, patient flow, quality, and system performance.
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for analytics initiatives with direct impact on patient outcomes, financial performance, and workforce and capacity planning.
  • Oversee planning, prioritization, and delivery of analytics work, including resource allocation, timelines, and accountability for deliverables.
  • Build, lead, and coach analytics staff, ensuring high standards for analytical rigor, responsiveness, and stakeholder service.
  • Apply health analytics, quantitative, and system improvement methodologies to support evidence‑informed decision‑making.
  • Partner with clinical leaders, physicians, operational leaders, and executives to define analytics needs, interpret findings, and support adoption into practice.
  • Communicate complex data and analysis clearly to diverse audiences, facilitating alignment, consensus, and action.
  • Liaise with internal and external partners (e.g., Informatics, IMIT, vendors, external agencies) to support data enablement and analytics initiatives.

Qualifications

 

Education & Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Health Services Administration, Science or Business Administration, and professional development in process improvement techniques, with seven (7) to ten (10) year's recent, related experience that includes managing large-scale projects and applying a variety of technical analytical tools to a range of process improvement opportunities.
  • Current registration with relevant professional College/Association, if applicable.
  • Valid BC Driver’s license required as local area travel requires the use of a personal vehicle.

 

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Displays comprehensive knowledge of project management principles and methodologies and ability to coach team members on these skills.
  • Uses sound business acumen to manage the fiscal resources of assigned projects/services in a manner that is financially responsible and consistent with overall goals of the organization.
  • Utilizes initiative, vision, independent thinking and creative problem-solving abilities to implement project plans and realize project completion.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of available resources for projects and applicable stakeholder groups, provides feedback and detailed analysis on project processes and makes recommendations as required.
  • Computer literate with word-processing, spreadsheet, presentation, project management and database applications.
  • Excellent communication skills to function within a complex interdisciplinary environment including ability to communicate with the physician community.
  • Works effectively under time pressure to meet deadlines, balance work priorities and resolve problems in a timely manner.
