Come work as a Substance Use Support Recovery & Treatment Psychiatrist with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!

Support patients with concurrent disorders on their path to recovery! We are looking for a psychiatrist to support our clinical teams providing care at our VCH contracted substance use treatment beds. All patients are connected to primary care and addiction medicine support while at the facilities for their 90 day treatment program. We are seeking a psychiatrist to see patients in consultation in order to provide diagnostic clarity and make medication recommendations which can be continued by the primary care/addiction medicine physician. The successful applicant is not expected to provide addiction medicine care or prescribe opioid agonist therapy (OAT),but is expected to see patients in early recovery from substance use.

Care is provided virtually to 4 sites either 2 half days or 1 full day per month. Successful applicants can either work from home or from a VCH office space.

Qualifications

Education, Licensing, & Experience:

  • Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) – Full
  • Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) - Mandatory
  • Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) - Mandatory
