Come work as a Gastroenterologist/Hepatologist with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!
The Division of Gastroenterology at the University of British Columbia (UBC) and Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) invites applications for a part-time Locum position in Transplant Hepatology to provide temporary clinical coverage.
We are seeking a Gastroenterologist or Internal Medicine specialist with advanced training in liver transplantation and hepatology. The successful candidate must hold certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) or be eligible for such certification. Completion of a recognized fellowship in Transplant Hepatology or significant clinical experience at a major academic center is required.
Clinical responsibilities will include participation in the inpatient liver transplant service (including on-call coverage of the transplant ward) and in outpatient transplant clinics. Depending on the candidate’s background and interests, there would be opportunities to include coverage in general gastroenterology, including the inpatient gastroenterology service and access to endoscopy resources. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute actively to the teaching and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows, and to engage in collaborative academic and clinical initiatives within the Division. The position represents an excellent opportunity to work within a high-volume tertiary care center.
The University of British Columbia and Vancouver Coastal Health hire on the basis of merit and are committed to employment gender, racial, religious and LGBTQ equity. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority.
