The Division of Ophthalmology is seeking two General Ophthalmologists to be based at Lions Gate Hospital within the Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) region, Coastal Community of Care.

The Division of Ophthalmology at Lions Gate Hospital is currently comprised of five surgeons. The proposed positions provide admitting and operating privileges at Lions Gate Hospital. Clinical responsibilities include participation in the ophthalmology on-call rota, preoperative and post-operative assessment of cataract patients, performance of cataract surgery, and the diagnosis and management of ophthalmic emergencies. Fellowship training or equivalent clinical experience is an asset. Applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to patient-centred care, quality improvement, and collaborative practice within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Lions Gate Hospital is a recognized Level 3 trauma centre and a key acute care provider serving a population of more than 270,000 residents across the North Shore and Sea-to-Sky region. The hospital is undergoing significant expansion with the development of a new Medical and Surgical Centre, further strengthening its role as a specialized regional facility with advanced services including neurosurgical care, and regional stroke and cardiac programs. New infrastructure includes the Paul Myers Tower, featuring 108 private inpatient rooms and eight new operating rooms.
