The Department of Anesthesia at Lions Gate Hospital (LGH) is an active clinical and academic affiliated department of 27 collaborative anesthesiologists. The department is seeking 2 full time anesthesiologists. On-call responsibilities are approximately one night every three weeks and one weekend every six weeks. Work hours typically range from 35 to 50 hours per week (e.g., 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, plus on-call duties).
Lions Gate Hospital is a level 3 Trauma Centre which provides a broad range of 24/7 anesthetic care for neurosurgery, general surgery, orthopaedics, urology, obstetrics, gynaecology, plastics, otolaryngology, ophthalmology and limited paediatrics. The Department of Anesthesia provides an acute pain service, weekday pre-anesthetic clinic and supports interventional radiology, palliative care, gastroenterology, cardiology and psychiatry. There is an active regional anesthesia component and academic team.
