As a Procurement & Education Coordinator with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

  • Support the program areas (internal clients) within VCH by facilitating sourcing and contract strategy and procurement options analysis.
  • Draft, edit and review standard form contracts and solicitation documents, considering the program needs, trade agreements and organizational risk and policy compliance within VCH.
  • Provide administrative support and respond to requests for information and analysis by researching and gathering required information, analyzing data, and preparing spreadsheets, reports and presentations as required to summarize information.
  • Source services to achieve best value for VCH and the clients we serve and advise program areas on which supplier to contract with, including taking a proactive approach in identifying trends and creating process oriented solutions that can be translated into procedures and policies to improve organizational and departmental efficiency.
  • Provide advice on category management best practices through the stages of contract strategy/planning, procurement/competitive process, contract negotiation/award, and ongoing contract management.
  • Support the management of multiple concurrent projects, including balancing competing priorities based on a broad understanding of organizational needs, working with legal counsel, operations and finance and researching legislation and regulations to ensure procurement processes are up to date.



Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Services Administration, Business Administration or relevant health care discipline.'
  • Minimum Two (2) to three (3) year's recent, related experience in project management, procurement, negotiation and contract execution, preferably in the public sector, and facilitating and managing consultation processes with a wide range of stakeholder groups.
  • Current registration with relevant professional College/Association, if applicable.

Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of contract language.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in the development and revision of contracts, solicitation documents and reports.
  • Ability to utilize negotiation skills when liaising with suppliers on schedules and pricing.
  • Excellent project/process management and analytical skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to coordinate and evaluate processes and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills to function within a complex interdisciplinary environment including ability to communicate with the clinical staff.
  • Ability to plan, organize, problem solve, analyze and prioritize work with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong proficiency with and ability to develop systems using a variety of computer software including database applications, internet-based applications and MS Office.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
