We're looking for a Recruitment Associate to join our high performance Recruitment Services team!

This will be a hybrid remote / on-site position.


How you'll contribute:


You'll support the hiring process of internal and external staff from the posting of positions to receiving and reviewing applications and processing successful candidates to complete the hiring process.  An integral part of the VCH recruitment team, your role will include:

  • Providing guidance and advice to Managers and Directors regarding recruitment services, posting and recruitment requirements, collective agreement language, labour relations interpretation, and organizational hiring practices;
  • Processing documentation related to successful candidate hires and transfers and forwarding for electronic input (local and international);
  • Determining salary in accordance with collective agreements;
  • Using sound working knowledge of collective agreement language in relation to the recruitment process;
  • Developing standard and ad hoc reports for use within the team (vacancies, position status, time to fill, etc); and,
  • Interacting with other Employee Engagement teams, managers, general staff and the public to respond to telephone and written inquiries about such things as the status of posted positions, employment opportunities, application procedures, salary and timekeeping issues and reference requests.

As the ideal candidate, you have:

  • Completed a recognized diploma or degree in Human Resources Management or a related field, and bring experience working in a HR department.
  • You are skilled with Microsoft Office (e.g. MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.,) and ideally bring experience with PeopleSoft.
  • An eye for detail and are willing to go the extra mile for your client portfolio, and do not believe in being ‘transactional’ with your clients.

This is a great foundational role to kick-start or continue building on your career in HR and to have impact in one of Canada’s largest health systems on the beautiful west coast of Vancouver, just outside downtown Vancouver near Olympic Village. 

As per the current Public Health Orders (Long Term Care/Seniors Assisted Living Provincial Health Officer Order and the Health Sector Order), as of October 26, 2021, all employees working for Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Proof of vaccination status will be required.
