Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Registered Nurse OR Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join the Workplace Violence Prevention team as a Clinical Trainer in Vancouver, BC. Apply today to join our team!

 

As a Clinical Trainer you will:

  • Provide training to staff at various organization sites through the delivery of Workplace Violence Prevention (WVP) training programs and activities.
  • Participate, in consultation and collaboration with Managers/Coordinators, various unit leadership teams and other relevant stakeholders, in the development and coordination of standardized clinical support and training programs to assist the knowledge transfer of WVP strategies into daily clinical practice.
  • Assist in the setting of priorities, planning, organizing and coordinating training activities to support individual and group learning needs and jointly supports the attainment of project goals and missions. 

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Degree in Education, or relevant Health Sciences Professional degree, plus two (2) years’ recent, related experience in training and/or group facilitation, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Current practicing registration with applicable provincial College as applicable.
    Valid B.C. Driver’s License may be required as local area travel may require the use of a vehicle.

  • Broad knowledge of teaching principles, methods and tools.
  • Broad knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in patient care.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach, demonstrate, facilitate and coach.
  • Demonstrated ability to support the development of curriculum, objectives and learning materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to use research methods, techniques and/or sources of information.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally clearly, objectively and effectively, listen to and understand ideas and information presented in groups and one-on-one.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate information and ideas clearly, and concisely, in writing; read and understand information presented in writing.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills and the ability to evaluate information against a set of standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish workload priorities independently and in collaboration with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective consultation to a variety of customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others including the ability to show sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated intermediate to advanced computer literacy with email, word processing and presentation applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate related equipment.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.

As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks.
