Come work as a Neurologist with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!

We're looking for 2-4 locum neurologists to join our team at Lions Gate Hospital (LGH), a tertiary district trauma center with a dedicated neuroscience unit and office practice. There's also potential to join the group permanently. We're looking for someone with strong general neurology skills for both inpatient and clinic. We also welcome neurologists with sub-specialty training in movement disorders, cognitive/behavioral neurology, headache, stroke, or neuromuscular disorders to enhance our group.

In this role, you'll be a vital part of our rapid access neurology clinic, providing acute care for TIA patients and urgent general neurology cases. You'll also play a key role in the VCH "Hot Stroke" Program. You'll participate in the on-call rotation, providing neurological services through the emergency department and hospital consultation service. This usually involves 4-6 days of call per month. Our service at LGH also includes inpatient EEG and EMG laboratories. Clinic work is flexible and dependent on the individual and their work location; we're generally looking for full-time or half-time neurologists in the community, though locum opportunities are variable.

LGH features an advanced emergency department with dedicated adjacent CT and MRI scans. As a recognized trauma centre, LGH is equipped with 269 acute beds, eight operating rooms, and a wide array of diagnostic services and equipment. Our recently opened Paul Myers Tower enhances our capacity with 108 private patient rooms, eight new operating rooms, and 39 pre- and post-operative spaces, alongside a modern medical reprocessing department and dedicated outpatient clinics.

LGH provides a full range of general and specialized acute care services, including neurology, neurosurgery, and cardiology, serving a large population across urban and rural settings, including the North Shore, Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton, Mount Currie, the Sunshine Coast, and Powell River.
