Come work as a Registered Midwife with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!

 

The qathet General Hospital is seeking a registered midwife to join our existing qathet Midwifery Clinic. We are looking for a collaborative team player with at least three years of experience to join our group of four full-time registered midwives. Candidates with backgrounds in lactation consultancy and OB surgical assisting are particularly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will support call coverage for qathet midwifery services, as well as acute care within the Maternity Ward at qathet General Hospital.

 

qathet General Hospital is a vital 42-bed facility that provides a comprehensive range of medical services. Supported by a dedicated team of primary care physicians and a diverse group of specialists, the hospital offers crucial care in areas such as Surgery, Endoscopy, Intensive Care (ICU), Obstetrics, Inpatient Psychiatry, Oncology, Emergency Medicine, and comprehensive Diagnostic Services. This ensures that residents of the North Sunshine Coast have access to essential medical care close to home.

 

The successful candidate will be expected to apply for and hold a valid license with BCCNM and membership with MABC. They will demonstrate strong initiative in leadership, teaching, and professional development, as well as the aptitude, motivation, and flexibility needed to work successfully within a team.

Qualifications

Education, Licensing, & Experience:

  • Valid license with BCCNM
  • CMBC Registration
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Fetal Health Surveillance (FHS)
  • Midwives Emergency Skills Program (MESP)
  • CMBC and MABC (in good standing)
