Oak Care Centre (OCC) (formerly named George Pearson Centre) Built in 1952, Oak Care Centre (formerly George Pearson Centre).

 

This position is within the Tracheotomy Ventilator Unit which has approximately 10-15 residents, an interdisciplinary team with respirologists and respiratory tech support.

 

Reporting to the site's Medical Coordinator, the physician who accepts this position will play a critical role in the supporting the primary care needs of residents and in the development of an inter-professional shared care team.

 

Physician will be expected to share in evening and weekend on-call in a shared call group. The group is made up of a total of 8 Long-term care physicians. Join our team today!

 

As a Family Physician – Geriatrics with Vancouver Coastal Health, you will:

  • Be responsible for providing direct clinical services to residents of Ward 2 at OCC
  • Foster collaborative inter-professional practice environment that enhances client centered services within the Long-term Care Program

Qualifications

Education, Licensing, & Experience:

  • Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) License – Full/Provisional
  • Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) – designation or eligibility – Mandatory
  • Experience in care of patients with respiratory disease

Knowledge & Abilities:

  • A commitment to participate in new methods in health improvement and care delivery
  • A demonstrated ability in working as a member of an inter-professional health care team. Note that certain days and times are preset to coordinate with the team care conferences and participation is mandatory.
