As a Medical Affairs Project Coordinator/Analyst with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

  • Provide comprehensive project management, data analysis, and operational project support for special initiatives within Vancouver Acute Medical Affairs.
  • This role is responsible for coordinating the project and initiative activities of the Senior Medical Directors and Director, Medical Affairs, managing sensitive and confidential information, and ensuring that projects and operational tasks are organized and executed efficiently.
  • Collaborate with both internal and external partners to optimize workflows, manage projects, and support the strategic objectives of the Medical Affairs team.
  • In addition to project coordination, this role will include performing data analysis to support evidence-based decision-making, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), and generating insights from project-related data to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Health, Social Sciences, Planning, Business Administration, or Health Administration.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of recent, relevant experience in a responsible role such as administration, project management, or business operations within a health, social services, government, or community organization. This includes experience in research assistance, project coordination, or policy analysis roles.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Possesses strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, with proven leadership abilities.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills, the ability to assess and discern risks, and the capability to take initiative and make decisions independently.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with key partners to effectively accomplish goals.
  • Demonstrated flexibility in adapting and changing procedures and processes to accommodate new roles and functions.
  • Practical experience in project coordination and management, research and evaluation, policy analysis, and community development.
  • Demonstrated skill in conflict management, consensus building, negotiation, and facilitation to build and maintain positive partnerships.
  • Demonstrated creativity, innovation, sound judgment, tact, diplomacy, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and demanding environment are highly valued, along with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Exercises considerable judgment, tact and discretion in preparing, disclosing and handling information of a confidential and/or sensitive nature.
  • Communicates in a compelling, clear and understandable manner (both verbally and in writing) and uses strong persuasion abilities to represent needs of others.
  • Liaises in a professional and courteous manner to gather and disseminate information.
  • Utilizes strong investigative and analytical skills in order effectively administer program requirements.  Applies excellent time management skills to prioritize and complete assignments in a manner that optimizes departmental effectiveness and contributes to organizational success.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct literature and best practice reviews.
  • Demonstrated skills in advanced word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications, as well as knowledge of financial accounts, particularly accounts payable and receivable. Demonstrated ability to navigate relevant computer software, internet search engines, funding structures, and application processes
  • Practices care and thoroughness when entering and maintaining systems information, calculating and summarizing data, and compiling reports.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.

As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks. For all new hires and appointments to Vancouver Coastal Health, you will be asked to provide this information as part of the onboarding process.
