Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Regional Support Services and Project Manager, Waste and Laundry to join the Regional Food Services Team. Apply today to join our team!

 

As a Regional Support Services and Project Manager, Waste and Laundry with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

  • Be responsible and accountable for the planning and coordination of all support services across the health authority.
  • Monitor and manage customer service for all delegated support services which may include all outsourced laundry & linen, and waste/environmental programs.
  • Be responsible and accountable for understanding and implementing departmental policies and service standards, creating and leading key operational projects (as assigned) and supporting other colleagues.
  • Be responsible for input to and maintaining the service and contract components of the vendor agreements.
  • Together with other departmental leaders, the Manager is responsible for building and maintaining exceptional customer and operational vendor relations that deliver consistent performance to commonly required standards.
  • Anticipate major changes at their site/facilities that impact services, and plan and implement mitigating strategies including participation in contract scope change with VCH Contract Management team.
  • Participate in a respectful and productive manner, provide and accept thoughtful counsel and advice, and fully support decisions made by this team.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Post secondary education and/or educational specialization in a support service field of expertise (Waste, Laundry/Linen) is required.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years’ recent, related management experience in a health facility, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Reasonable knowledge in contract management, and cost/benefit analysis
  • Some understanding of contract law and commercial terms & conditions.
  • Good experience in managing partner/vendor relationships.
  • General knowledge of the BC Health Care Industry environment.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with key internal and external partners to promote and enhance services provided with sensitivity to diversity and indigenous lens.
  • Practices the recognition, inclusion and support of all types and aspects of diversity at all stages of engagement, with an understanding of the issues faced by people from equity-deserving groups.
  • Effective leadership and communication skills to foster a respectful and motivating environment.
  • Competently utilizes spreadsheet and word processing applications at an intermediate to advanced level and has a comprehensive knowledge of computerized purchasing systems, including e-commerce applications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, interpersonal and administrative skills
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with key internal and external partners to promote and enhance services provided with sensitivity to diversity and indigenous lens.
  • Practices the recognition, inclusion and support of all types and aspects of diversity at all stages of engagement, with an understanding of the issues faced by people from equity-deserving groups.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
