As a Senior Manager, Clinical Design Teams with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

  • Develop a comprehensive portfolio project plan, and acts as an integral leader overseeing designated design teams to achieve overall CST deliverables.
  • Keep teams on focus and on task to deliver weekly objectives, manages issues and the escalation process, and delivers the Health Organization (HO) dependencies and decisions on time and within budget, and in accordance with the master project schedule and strategy.
  • Collaborate and take direction from CST’s clinical leadership team, including the Chief Medical Information Officers, Chief Clinical Information Officer, Transformation Leads and the Director, Clinical Transformation & Design/Configuration, the Senior Manager ensures the clinical information system design meets the specified clinical requirements and successfully renders on the intended benefits with respect to improved patient care and outcomes.


About the The Clinical & Systems Transformation (CST) Project


The Clinical & Systems Transformation (CST) Project is one of the largest health care projects in British Columbia's history. It is a joint undertaking between Vancouver Coastal Health, the Provincial Health Services Authority and Providence Health Care to complete a significant transformation of clinical practices and systems. This is an exciting initiative that will deliver key benefits for our patients, health care providers and health organizations.



Education & Experience

  • Master's degree in Nursing, Health Sciences Professional field, Clinical Informatics, or related discipline
  • Seven (7) to ten (10) years’ recent, related experience in project management experience in a complex health care setting required
  • Cinical background and health informatics experience strongly preferred.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Project management experience - detailed scope identification, progress monitoring & reporting, issue and risk management.
  • Facilitation experience - working with interdisciplinary committees to render decisions in a timely fashion.
  • Highly developed communication skills with the ability to document work appropriately.
  • Demonstrable skills planning work effort, handling change requests, and tracking tasks, actions, risks, issues and impacts.
  • Resourceful; well organized; systematic analysis; strategic and critical thinking; attention to detail; leadership and management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise tact, good judgment and initiative, deal with frequent and random changes; make decisions for a wide variety of complex business matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to use database, spreadsheet and word processing software at an advanced level.
  • Demonstrable skills organizing work and people to meet project scope and objectives.


As per the current Public Health Orders (Long Term Care/Seniors Assisted Living Provincial Health Officer Order and the Health Sector Order), as of October 26, 2021, all employees working for Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Proof of vaccination status will be required.
