Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Nurse Practitioner to join the team at the Lu'Ma Medical Centre in Vancouver, BC and other Aboriginal Primary Health Care sites across VCH. The NP will be based in Vancouver and will provide vacation relief/backfill to Nurse Practitioners working within the Indigenous Health Network communities including Musqueam, Squamish Nation, Tsleil-Waututh Nation, Urban Native Youth Association Primary Care Clinic, Vancouver Aboriginal Health Primary Care Clinic, and Kilala Lelem. All travel will be included and provided. The NP works autonomously providing culturally safe care to meet the primary care needs of patients in partnership with social workers, traditional healers/elders, and clinic staff. VCH is pleased to announce we will now reimburse Nurse Practitioners (NPs) for the cost of the Objective Structured Clinical Exam (OSCE), upon successful completion, for NP candidates who have not yet completed the exam, and who are hired into a regular or temporary position with VCH. The OSCE reimbursement is in the form of a forgivable loan, which is forgiven after one (1) year of continuous employment in a regular or temporary position with VCH.
As per the current Public Health Orders (Long Term Care/Seniors Assisted Living Provincial Health Officer Order and the Health Sector Order), as of October 26, 2021, all employees working for Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Proof of vaccination status will be required.

About The Lu'ma Medical Centre:
Lu'ma Medical Centre provides culturally safe health care through an Indigenous lens of holistic wellness by a team utilizing a wide range of approaches. Our focus is upstream primary health care for children, youth, women, and families in the urban Aboriginal community. The NP works autonomously to meet the primary care needs of their patients with support from the social workers, traditional healers/elders, and clinic staff. The clinic is currently staffed with one other NP and GPs providing primary care. The NP will be based in Lu’ma clinic and be part of the primary care team and they also will be deployed to cover NPs working in other indigenous communities as backfill relief including Musqueam, Tla’Amin (Powell River), Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, Urban Native Youth Association Primary Care Clinic (Vancouver), Vancouver Native Health Primary Care Clinic (Vancouver).
