As an Community Health Centre Coordinator, you will:

  • Participate in the planning/coordination of clerical and support activities supported by an integrated health service team and delivery model.
  • Work collaboratively to coordinate/oversee the daily operation of the programs/clinics across multiple sites, clinics, and services within an integrated health service delivery model and interdisciplinary care team that includes primary care; mental health and substance use; private General Practitioner (GP) partners; and other Community Care Services.
  • Supervise clerical staff; schedule/monitor work to ensure accurate/timely completion of tasks, provide guidance/advice and feedback in the performance of work.
  • Develop and implement worksite policies, operating methods and procedures.
  • Monitor and control expenses and determines resource requirements for the preparation annual operating budget/s and/or planning for capital needs.
  • Monitor maintenance of the facility and makes recommendations for the purchase, leases, replacement and disposal of office equipment/supplies; sources and selects suppliers.
  • Execute project work such as new construction, renovation and IMIS telecommunication contracts.
  • Act as a resource for the DTES integrated team by providing information and administrative support related to clients with complex health care needs.
  • Establish, maintain and enhance therapeutic relationships based on respect.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by a recognized diploma, certificate or degree in business.
  • Five (5) years’ recent related experience, including two (2) years supervisory experience and experience supporting staff/team who provide care through a holistic mental health, substance use and primary care lens or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent time management and organization skills combined with the ability to prioritize and to balance the workload requirements of multiple management positions while ensuring routine needs are met and with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to supervise.
  • Knowledge and experience in Trauma Informed Practice, Harm Reduction and Reovery Oriented Care.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Considerable knowledge of current business office management, methods and procedures, including knowledge of financial statements and the ability to monitor budgets.
  • Ability to keyboard 6000 strokes per hour.
  • Ability to type 50 wpm.
  • Demonstrated intermediate level proficiency in word processing and use of advanced computer software programs that includes Excel and Microsoft Spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to make decisions in accordance with applicable policies and procedures and to explain and interpret the same.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, experience in community health services environment and working with multiple collective agreements.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.

As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks.
