As a Clinical Device Lead, Clinical & Systems Transformation with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

  • Report to the Device Team Manager
  • Coordinate the introduction, evaluation and implementation of new/replacement clinical devices and products across the three health organizations (VCH/PHC/PHSA).
  • Co-chair advisory or task groups to define device standards aligning with clinical requirements
  • Support implementation strategies in collaboration with key stakeholders and relevant CST colleagues
  • Coordinate on-site evaluations and assessments that focus on clinical implications, implementation, and impact to clinical operations.
  • Act as the clinical solution consultant collaborating with the appropriate stakeholders to ensure device selection, deployment, workflow integration, adoption, navigation and use by clinical staff.

The Clinical & Systems Transformation (CST) Project is one of the largest health care projects in British Columbia's history. It is a joint undertaking between Vancouver Coastal Health, the Provincial Health Services Authority and Providence Health Care to complete a significant transformation of clinical practices and systems. QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience

  • Baccalaureate in Nursing complemented with I.T. technical training or experience relevant to healthcare
  • Seven (7) to ten (10) years’ experience in large healthcare organization or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience with device procurement and integration as part of electronic health record implementation an asset.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the provision of evidence-based practice in a clinical setting.
  • Maintains a broad knowledge of clinical devices, clinical services delivery and patient/client satisfaction determinants across the organizations.
  • Maintains current knowledge of new developments and trends in clinical devices and products and recommends/implements best practices accordingly.
  • Maintains a strong sense of ownership and a results-oriented attitude to continually improve processes and systems, enhance efficiency and contribute to overall clinical and organizational success.
  • Uses exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to share information, and collaborate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to arrive at best overall solution.
  • Uses effective facilitation and negotiation abilities to achieve consensus, resolve conflict and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and execute plans and ensure timelines are met while working with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Exercises initiative, self-direction and problem solving abilities to identity gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
