As a Site Supervisor, Medical Imaging with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

  • Practice in accordance with the standards of professional practice as well as within a patient and family centred care model and the vision and values of the Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) Medical Imaging department.
  • Work in a team based environment.
  • Be responsible for providing technical leadership, supervision, expertise, and coordination of daily activities for designated site(s).
  • Participate in the planning and coordination of Medical Imaging services, practice standards, goals and objectives in conjunction with the Director and Medical Director and other team members.
  • Collaborate on various staffing, financial and quality control issues to achieve excellence in patient centred care, education, and research.
  • Support and facilitate regional initiatives to improve service delivery for Medical Imaging across VCH.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Certification with CAMRT or CARDUP as appropriate.
  • Completion of a recognized program in the designated modality.
  • A minimum of five (5) years' recent, related experience including three (3) years' leadership experience supplemented by completion of approved management courses, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Valid BC Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes, as required.

 

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the standards of practice and guidelines for Medical Imaging practitioners established by the CAMRT and/or other relevant national professional associations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based practice.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of organization policies, procedures and standards of care, including practice of safe work procedures with modality equipment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of research process and methodology.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of PACS/Radiology Information Systems, i.e., digital imaging, image archiving and retrieval.
  • Demonstrated ability to function as an effective leader, motivator, facilitator and team member.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach, demonstrate, facilitate, coach and mentor staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop procedure protocols and manuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote evidence-based practice and a culture of creativity and enquiry.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop project plans and implement new projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) and deal effectively with clients and their families, co-workers, physicians, other health care staff and staff of external agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with and/or guide others in resolution of conflict issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and prioritize work.
  • Demonstrated skill in modality specific techniques and the use of applicable equipment and supplies.
  • Demonstrated skill in CPR techniques.
  • Ability to operate related equipment including applicable software applications.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
