Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Registered Nurse - Clinical Nursing Educator at Sechelt Hospital. Apply today to join our team!

 

As a Clinical Educator with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

  • Provide clinical education services including individual and group learning assessments and opportunities.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate clinical education programs and resources using specialized theory and knowledge of generalized and specialized clinical practice as well as teaching and learning principles and processes.
  • Consult, confer, and collaborate with educators and clinical program and team members in promotion of continuous quality improvement, resolution of clinical education issues and coordination of activities required for progressive educational and clinical practice programs.
  • Takes corrective action with respect to individual and group learning needs.

Sechelt is located on the traditional territories of the shíshálh (Sechelt) Nation and is approximately 50 km northwest of Vancouver. It is accessible from the mainland by a 40-minute ferry trip between Horseshoe Bay and Langdale, followed by a 25-minute drive along Highway 101, also know as the Sunshine Coast Highway. ABOUT SECHELT HOSPITAL

 

Sechelt Hospital is an acute care, 46-bed facility located in Sechelt, British Columbia and serves over 30,000+ residents of the Lower Sunshine Coast. Sechelt Hospital provides a full range of services to the community, including Emergency care, Renal program-community dialysis units, Mental Health and Substance Use Services, surgical services, birthing for low-risk pregnancies and imaging services.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Three (3) years’ recent, related nursing experience in the designated clinical area(s), including one year's related teaching experience and/or group facilitation or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Completion of post graduate course work and/or certification applicable to the designated clinical area.
  • Completion of ‘Educator Pathway Program’ is preferred.
  • For designated Clinical Specialty Areas: Three (3) years’ recent, related nursing experience in the designated clinical specialty area.
  • Valid Driver's License to operate a vehicle within B.C. Local area travel may require the use of a personal vehicle

  • Knowledge of clinical practice related to treatment and care of the designated patient/resident population.
  • Knowledge of organization’s policies, procedures and standards of care.

  • Demonstrated clinical proficiency in the designated clinical area
  • Demonstrated ability to teach, demonstrate, facilitate and lead.

  • Demonstrated computer skills including the ability to effectively use a computerized client care information system and other relevant electronic applications such as email, word processing and presentation software.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.

Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks.
