As a CST Project Financial Analyst with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

  • Participate and support in the strategic decision making process of the CST project providing analysis, advice and recommendations.
  • Play a key role in the development, compilation and review of the CST annual and multi-year budgets as well as period end reporting and forecasting.
  • Contribute financial expertise and support for assessing, interpreting, highlighting and reporting on the fiscal performance and monthly forecasts of CST programs with respect to expenditure patterns, statistical and critical indicator data/information, the meeting of budgetary targets and as required, business process improvement reviews and project delivery modeling for the CST project.
  • Support the CST Finance team by consulting with the CST Leadership team on the design, development and implementation of changes in programs. Responsibilities include support on submissions to Health Organizations, contract negotiation analysis, assistance with program restructuring and other change management initiatives in support of the CST’s vision, mission and project plan.

Education & Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance or a related field of study combined with a minimum of five (5) years’ recent, related experience preferably in a health care environment.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of a professional accounting designation (CA, CGA or CMA).


Knowledge & Abilities

  • Demonstrated strong writing and presentation skills with experience in program and business case research and development.
  • Superior analytical skills including the ability to comprehend complex issues and related data/information and present information in concise meaningful ways.
  • Strong computer and financial application skills including demonstrated ability to productively use current spreadsheet, word processing, presentation and database applications.
  • Customer focused with ability to facilitate and encourage co-operation between diverse operational groups at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing with all levels.
  • Excellent organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure and multi-task without direct supervision
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the job.
