Work Site: Emergency & Acute Medicine, Vancouver General Hospital
Status: Regular Part Time (0.4 FTE)

Salary: $35.98 - $44.79 per hour
Hours:

0800-1600

Days off: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wedesday, and Thursday; some on-call shifts as operationally required (approximately 1 in 20).

The Patient Population

As a Physiotherapist in the Emergency department at Vancouver General Hospital, you will work with the following patient population:

  • Patients with orthopedic injuries
  • Frail elderly
  • Patients with back pain
  • Musculoskeletal injuries
  • Dynamic and fast paced environment on the cutting edge of health care

The Nature of your Work

Your work as a Physiotherapist with the Emergency Department may include:

  • Musculoskeletal assessment and treatments
  • Gait re-education with the application of gait aids
  • Discharge planning
  • Management of the frail elderly patient

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience

  • Current full registration with the College of Physical Therapists of BC (CPTBC).
  • Eligible for membership in the Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia (PABC).

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
