Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for Rehabilitation Assistants to join our Long Term Care & Assisted Living sites in North Vancouver, Vancouver, and Richmond. Apply today to join our team!


As per the current Public Health Orders, as of October, 12, 2021, all employees working in long term care and seniors assisted living facilities are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Proof of vaccination status will be required.


As a Rehabilitation Assistant you will make your impact by:

  • Working under the operational supervision of the Manager and the work direction of a designated therapist, and in cooperation with interdisciplinary team members, to carry out established rehabilitative activities
  • Demonstrating and teaching activities
  • Adapting devices to enable to maximize potential for independence
  • Providing functional direction to patient/client/resident family organizing activities
  • Accompanying on outings and coordinating portering
  • Assisting with practicing daily living skills
  • Reporting in writing or using computer relevant observations of patient/client/resident progress and behaviours
  • Providing direction to volunteers and organizing equipment and supplies for activities
  • Ensureing a safe work environment, cleaning equipment and maintaining an established inventory of supplies.


Education & Experience

  • Completion of a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
