As a Clinic Supervisor at VCH you will:

• Supervise more than ten (10) designated staff and oversees the coordination of workflow within the designated area(s).
• Schedule and coordinates work assignment, establishes work priorities, and evaluates employee performance in conjunction with the Manager and/or designate.
• Develop, review, and revise policies and procedures, identify staffing shortages, participate in recruitment of staff, coordinate the orientation and training in new staff.
• Monitor expenditures, equipment and supplies.
• Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders, committees and task groups as required for conducting daily business and achieving program goals and objectives.

ABOUT BELLA BELLA, BC

Bella Bella is a beautiful island community off the central coast of British Columbia, 690 km north of Vancouver. It is surrounded by a magical world of channels, inlets and old growth forest. It is home to salmon, orcas, humpbacks, bald eagles and the other denizens of the Pacific Northwest. The climate is mild and the area is a paradise for kayaking, sport fishing, hiking and photography.

The Heiltsuk Hospital in Bella Bella has 7 acute beds, 7 long term care beds and a 4-bed emergency department open 24/7, along with Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging services. It offers telehealth services as well as speciality clinics. Heiltsuk Hospital also has an Intensive Case Management team for mental health and substance use. There is a medical clinic and a pharmacy located in the hospital. The healthcare team consists of Physicians, RNs, LPNs, PCAs, Laboratory and Radiology Technologists, Combined Lab/X-Ray Technologists, Pharmacist, Pharmacy Assistants, and Support Services Personnel.

Heiltsuk Hospital is located on the traditional territories of the Heiltsuk Nation. It is one of the only provincial hospitals located on a reserve in all of Canada.

Education & Experience

• Grade 12, four (4) recent related experience including one (1) year in a supervisory capacity or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to deal with others effectively.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to supervise.
• Ability to organize work.
• Ability to operate related equipment.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.

As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks.
