Foundry is a province-wide network of integrated health and social service centres for young people ages 12-24, providing a one-stop-shop for young people to access mental health care, substance use services, primary care, social services and youth and family peer supports. The Nurse Practitioner in this role will provide full scope primary care to patients seeking care at the Foundry. NPs working at the Foundry in Richmond will be medical providers who are trauma informed and engaged in team-based care with the focus on youth primary care needs, mental health and substance use, sexual health, and gender affirming care. NPs applying on this position are encouraged to have specialty training in Addiction Medicine from the BCCSU Provincial Opioid Agonist Treatment Support Program and can be supported for those new to this practice.
VCH is pleased to announce we will now reimburse Nurse Practitioners (NPs) for the cost of the Objective Structured Clinical Exam (OSCE), upon successful completion, for NP candidates who have not yet completed the exam, and who are hired into a regular or temporary position with VCH. The OSCE reimbursement is in the form of a forgivable loan, which is forgiven after one (1) year of continuous employment in a regular or temporary position with VCH.
As a Nurse Practitioner with VCH you will:
Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) plus 4 years of recent, and relevant clinical nursing experience. Successful completion of the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) required.
