Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Manager, Menu & Food Information Systems to join the Food Services team. Apply today to join our team!  

 

As a Manager, Menu & Food Information Systems with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

  • Be responsible for overseeing health authority regional menus and the operational delivery of the business processes provided by the food service information systems including the planning, analysis, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the regional menus and information systems.
  • Oversee the maintenance and development of regional menus to meet health organization and/or provincial nutrition standards and other menu requirements.
  • Review, recommend and create plans for changes required to the food information systems to meet the day-to-day business requirements and future business needs.
  • Participate in overseeing food purchasing processes and food product selection for the regional menus.
  • Coordinate the training of internal staff on the food service information systems and maintain regional menu and food information systems procedures and education/training materials.
  • Work in collaboration with the organization’s IM/ITS partners/department, food operations, Dietitians and Practice Leads and other internal and external partners, as required. Supervise designated staff.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Baccalaureate in Dietetics or Nutritional Science from an accredited university and current registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC).
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ recent, related experience, including experience working in food operations and with food service information systems (i.e. Computrition or CBORD) in a healthcare setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Excellent organizational, project management and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully communicate solutions to technical issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with technical, operational and vendor staff.
  • User-level technical problem-solving skills.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with key internal and external partners to promote and enhance services provided with sensitivity to diversity and indigenous lens.
  • Practices the recognition, inclusion and support of all types and aspects of diversity at all stages of engagement, with an understanding of the issues faced by people from equity-deserving groups.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work with end-users of varying skill levels at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to analyze work flow and systems applications in a clear, concise manner.
  • Ability to utilize resources effectively.
  • Positive, solution-oriented attitude in the workplace.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of desktop and laptop computer hardware, basic Local Area Networks (Novell, Windows), Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
