Come work as a General Internal Medicine Physician with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!

 

Richmond Hospital is seeking a locum General Internal Medicine specialist to provide services to a geriatric population in a team-based model with support from Geriatrics and Geri Psychiatry on a dedicated Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) unit. The successful applicant will become a member of the Department of Internal Medicine and will be required to participate in a call rota. The successful candidate will be working 1 week every month at Richmond Hospital, 7000 Westminster Hwy, Richmond, BC V6X 1A2.

 

Compensation: $215.00 to $226.92 hourly (To be negotiated)/65 to 75 hours per month.

  • 32-bed unit staffed by two Internists and a Nurse Practitioner
  • Work includes ward wounds, new admissions, allied health care rounds, liaising with specialists
  • Scheduled 10h shifts, (0700-1700 or 0800-1800) typically scheduled 7 days at a time Mon-Sun (with flexibility) (approx 70 hours week)
  • Some expected home/night call compensated separately on MOCAP
  • Quality improvement and teaching opportunities available

Qualifications

Education, Licensing, & Experience:

  • Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) – Full/US Certified License
  • Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) – Mandatory
  • Eligible to work in BC (includes IRCC)
