The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) is offering a one-year hospital-based fellowship in surgical pathology beginning July 1, 2024 and/or July 1, 2025, and/or July 1, 2026. VGH is a large academic hospital with numerous cancer programs, serving as a tertiary referral surgical center for the province of British Columbia. Our Anatomical Pathology division provides subspecialty consultative service for a high volume of in-house specimens (including a busy frozen section service) and outside referral cases, including support from our in-house Molecular Pathology laboratory. Fellowship opportunities are available in the following subspecialty areas:
One fellowship will be available each year. The successful candidate will be able to tailor the fellowship to a primary subspecialty focus and secondary focus if required (preferably 1-2 focused areas). Fellows will participate in multi-disciplinary cancer conferences and weekly intra-departmental rounds. Exposure to quality activities is also encouraged. Fellows will also be given an opportunity to participate in one or more research projects.
