Working within the Division of Anatomical Pathology and reporting to the Medical Director of the Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory, the Molecular Pathology Scientist is responsible for conducting advanced molecular analyses to aid in the diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutic decision-making for various diseases, with a focus on cancer. Provides supervision of all molecular diagnostic assays in the laboratory, including development and validation of new assays, and monitoring of existing assay protocols. This role works closely with pathologists, laboratory staff, and clinical teams to provide comprehensive molecular pathology services, and supports laboratory accreditation by participating in laboratory quality assurance programs. The Molecular Pathology Scientist develops related protocols, procedures and policies for quality control and quality assurance and provides guidance and direction to technical staff regarding clinical matters.
