Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Business and Systems Operations Manager to join the Cardiac Catheterization Lab team. Apply today to join our team! 

 

This role will develop and maintain management systems for complex inventory, equipment, and supplies including inventory control, service agreements and manage the development of the program/unit non labor budget, tracking and accountability. They will be a part of the Cardiac Science Leadership team and provide direct supervision and support within the team.

 

As a Business and Systems Operations Manager with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

  • Report to the Director, and in co-management with the Medical Manager(s), the Business and Systems Operations Manager is responsible for the operational, administrative, service quality leadership for the Cardiac Services clinical business and systems program and administrative support staff.
  • Be responsible for operational leadership and management of equipment and supplies services within Cardiac Services.
  • Play a critical role in linking their portfolio with the clinical operations and related health services to address the ongoing issues/needs of providing both inpatient, ambulatory, and procedural care.
  • Coordinate and develop processes that align with VCH best practices for assessment and implementation of new technologies.
  • Work as a team with colleagues and co-workers to achieve excellence in client centred care, education, and research within a complex, multi-site environment.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Baccalaureate (Masters preferred) in a relevant health care profession supplemented with leadership and business management courses.
  • Seven (7) to ten (10) year's recent, related clinical and progressive leadership experience, including direct supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Current registration/membership with a recognized professional association.
  • Excellent communication skills to function within a complex interdisciplinary environment including ability to communicate with the physician community.
  • Basic computer literacy with word processing, spreadsheet and/or database programs and ability to utilize a computerized patient care information system required.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop, manage and evaluate programs considering needs, service delivery interrelationships and service potential within a complex environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand available resources for program/unit and keeps quality in the forefront of all resource utilization decisions; provides feedback and detailed analysis on budget variances and makes recommendations for corrective action.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate, collaborate and negotiate for effective resolution of human resource issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster collaborative working relationships to support the professional practice and ongoing development of staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote development of clinical research opportunities to ensure evidence-based practice within an interdisciplinary team-based environment.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with key internal and external partners to promote and enhance services provided with sensitivity to diversity and indigenous lens.
  • Practices the recognition, inclusion and support of all types and aspects of diversity at all stages of engagement, with an understanding of the issues faced by people from equity-deserving groups.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
