Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Decision Support Advisor to join the Data Management & Reporting team in Vancouver, BC. Apply today to join our team!


As a Decision Support Advisor with VCH you will:

  • Identify, develop, implement and maintain an innovative response to the quality, utilization and other information needs of Vancouver Coastal Health.
  • Be responsible for consultation services and detailed analysis of information including:
    • confidential data files;
    • user needs assessment and requirements surveys;
    • integrated report design;
    • development of appropriate database structures and development of dashboards,
    • key performance indicators and balanced scorecards.

As per the current Public Health Orders (Long Term Care/Seniors Assisted Living Provincial Health Officer Order and the Health Sector Order), as of October 26, 2021, all employees working for Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Proof of vaccination status will be required.

Education & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems or equivalent plus three years experience in Information, Utilization Management and Quality Management.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Expertise in the area of Decision Support including concepts, tools, methods and workload measurement.
  • Knowledge of database design and report design at the intermediate to advanced level.
  • Knowledge and skills in the development of dashboards, KPIs and BSC an asset.
  • Knowledge of healthcare databases an asset.
  • Advanced proficiency with desktop analytical tools including MS Office, SQL, SAS or other equivalent tools.
