Come work as an Infectious Disease Physician with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!
The Division of Infectious Diseases at Lions Gate Hospital is looking for Infectious Diseases physicians and graduating fellows to join our group as temporary (locum) members. Physicians must be RCPSC board certified or board eligible and eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.
We service the Coastal Community of Care including the North Shore, Sunshine Coast and Sea to Sky corridor, seeing a diverse patient population including urban, rural and remote. Our hospital sees about 73,000 patients/year and the Division is responsible for assisting the other seven hospitals in the Coastal Community. LGH is a level 3 trauma center, and is affiliated with the UBC Department of Medicine, providing teaching to medical students and residents. The responsibilities include antimicrobial stewardship (AMS), Infection prevention and control (IPAC), outpatient antibiotic therapy (OPAT), inpatient and outpatient consults including viral hepatitis and HIV and wound care programs. No night or weekend call. We have a cohesive group of physicians who are dedicated to continuing education and involved in clinical research with a dedicated research coordinator. We also have regular Division of Infectious Diseases grand rounds, tropical medicine rounds and Journal Club.
We are looking for hard working and collegial applicants willing to innovate, co-create and support our Infectious Diseases service delivery through the Coastal Community of Care.
Our group has excellent relationships with our consultants, as well as enthusiastic, dedicated nurses and antimicrobial pharmacists.
