As per the current Public Health Orders, as of October, 12, 2021, all employees working in long term care and seniors assisted living facilities are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Proof of vaccination status will be required.


The Patient Population 

As a physiotherapist in Purdy Pavilions, you will support complex patients from a wide spectrum of patient populations, including: 

  • Patients with complex health care needs requiring 24-hour professional care due to physical disability or mental or behavioural conditions, including brain injuries or dementia
  • Multiple programs are provided including bus outings, gardening, cooking, computer training, carpet bowling, exercise groups, pub afternoons.  Purdy has numerous volunteers who visit residents and assist with programs.

The Nature of your Work 


The nature of your work support/assistance/treatment to your client could include:

  • Working with an interdisciplinary team
  • Assess physical status, functional ability, needs and goals
  • Establish a physiotherapy diagnosis and prognosis, developing and implementing intervention strategies, and evaluating the effectiveness of intervention
  • Communicating and liaising with the client/family and health care team
  • Supporting/assisting/educating clients, which may  include: strengthening, and gait re-education; discharge planning in coordination with the client, family and team; and gait aid prescription

Education & Experience

  • Current full registration with the College of Physical Therapists of BC (CPTBC).
  • Eligible for membership in the Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia (PABC).

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
