Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Workforce Strategies Advisor to join the Workforce Strategies team in Vancouver. This is a brand new role that will be responsible for acting as an internal consulting resource for VCH in identifying initiatives to move the organization toward its vision with an emphasis on workforce strategies.  If this sounds like you, apply today to join our team!


As a Workforce Stategies Advisor you will:

  • Provide skills and knowledge in project planning, project management, integrating data analysis, forecasting projections, and reporting to implement key projects across VCH and directed at supporting the strategic aims of the organization.
  • Partner with clinical operations leaders and works closely with other People Teams, Transformational Change Advisors, and Communications to provide expert consultation, coordination and support to organizational committees as required.
  • Provides subject matter expertise on strategic workforce initiatives both internally and externally and liaise with strategic human resources and organizational development professionals in other BC healthcare organizations and the Ministry of Health.

As per the current Public Health Orders (Long Term Care/Seniors Assisted Living Provincial Health Officer Order and the Health Sector Order), as of October 26, 2021, all employees working for Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Proof of vaccination status will be required.

Education & Experience

  • Education training and experience equivalent to a Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Health Services Administration, Human Resources, Business Administration or relevant health care discipline with five (5) year's recent, related experience including change management initiatives or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis along with experience and education in project management are important assets to this role.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Initiative, vision, independent thinking and creative problem-solving abilities to implement strategic initiatives.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of project management principles and methodologies and ability to coach team members on these skills.
  • Change management, and influencing decision-making at the individual, group, and organizational level
  • Broad knowledge of patient care delivery systems in primary, acute and community settings.
  • Effective facilitation, persuasion and negotiation abilities to achieve consensus, resolve conflict and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Works effectively under time pressure to meet deadlines, balance work priorities and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
