As a Patient Transport Supervisor at Vancouver Coastal Health you will make your impact by:

• Participating as a member of the management team in the planning and development of goals, objectives, policies and programs of the dispatch service and patient transport areas for Vancouver General Hospital and UBC Hospital and by being responsible for the day-today supervision of staff.
• Establishing work schedules, responding to client concerns/complaints, training and orienting staff on proper work procedures, and updating information into the Dispatch system.
• Ensuring proper safety practices and procedures are adhered to.
• Developing primary working relationships with the department staff and the managers and supervisors of departments throughout the Hospitals to schedule and coordinate dispatch and patient transport functions.
• Supervising the Dispatch and Patient Transport staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience

• High school graduation, plus three (3) to five (5) years’ recent, related supervisory experience in a large health care facility, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge & Abilities

• Demonstrated ability to lead, train, motivate, coordinate and supervise a large workforce in a health care setting.
• Solid customer relationship management and performance management skills.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively and courteously, both verbally and in writing with a variety of audiences.
• Team-oriented and skilled in working within a collaborative environment.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work.
