This is a Hybrid Remote/In-office position. 

 

As a Talent Acquisition Assistant with Vancouver Coastal Health, you will: 

  • Support the Talent Acquisition team in the employment process by completing reference checks and other verifications for external hires, administering testing to applicants, maintaining record of advertising expenditures and assisting with the organization of job fairs and career days.
  • Assist with the preparation of position vacancy bulletins and job postings and forward appropriate information to appropriate managers.
  • Provide support and relieve Customer Service Representatives when they are absent.
  • Interact and communicate with staff, managers and the public on matters such as advertised and posted positions, employment opportunities, application procedures, salary and timekeeping problems and written and verbal reference requests.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Completion of a recognized diploma in Human Resources Management and one (1) year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Computer literacy with word processing, spreadsheet, graphics and database programs, e.g. MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access and Visio is required.

Knowledge and Abilities 

  • Employs expertise in the use of desktop computer applications for such things as creating databases to store information and preparing general and specialized reports and projects.
  • Applies excellent time management skills to prioritize and complete assignments and schedule activities in a manner that optimizes departmental effectiveness and maintains customer relations.
  • Practices diligence and care when maintaining, monitoring, calculating and summarizing data, records and budget information.
  • Effectively utilizes both verbal and written communication skills when obtaining and providing information and communicating electronically, verbally and in written format.
